Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
One of the most powerful scriptures in the Bible says:
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is
common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you
to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the
temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able
to bear it." I Corinthians 10:13
Why is this scripture in the Bible? Because the LORD knew
when He created us that we would go through difficulties,
temptations and trials in this life. There is a false image
of Christianity out there that causes new believers to
think that being a Christian should be easy and that when
you become a Christian everything in your life will
suddenly be perfect and that you will walk around on a
cloud all day thinking of how beautiful life is. Nothing
could be further from the truth. When you truly give your
life to Jesus that is when the fight begins. Why is that?
Because when you truly give your life to the LORD that is
when Satan knows he has a new enemy and he will do
everything in his power to stop you from living for Jesus
Christ. That is when those temptations come. The LORD knew
we would be tempted. But He gave us that scripture in I
Corinthians 10:13 to let us know that He would help us have
victory over the difficulties. Jesus said in John 16:33
"These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye
might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation,
but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John
16:33
